Came through quickly and very light material.

I have a tech shirt from 10 years ago and finally decided to get a new one. It is a thin shirt, that’s how it’s designed to be so it is see through when you hold it up to the light like other reviewers are showing but that’s what makes it so comfortable in the heat. It’s not see through when you’re wearing it. If you want the standard material heat gear shirt buy the charged cotton shirt. This shirt trades some durability for comfort, which is worth it for me.

  5. Michael

    It’s a good, dependable shirt.

But I just want to warn customers — depending on the color, the material is totally different — still 100% polyester, but just a completely different weave.

The popular “Steel Light Heather/Black” and “Carbon Heather/Black” (light gray heather and dark gray heather) are a thinner, more breathable, lightweight shirt. Perfect for reducing sweat outdoors in the humid summer. While in the low-humidity winter, they attract static from the dryer and cling to your body so much that they’re virtually unwearable.

Whereas all the other colors are a thicker, less breathable, medium-weight shirt. Perfect for a more substantial shirt for working out in an air-conditioned gym. And they don’t attract static or cling, so they work great for working out in the winter too.

So they’re both good, but they should really be sold as 2 different shirts, not different colors.

Other notes: these sizes run 1/2 a size smaller than the equivalent 100% polyester Nike Dri-Fit shirts. The Nike XL is too big for me, the Nike L is too small for me, while UA XL is perfect for me — exactly in-between.

Also: the back of this shirt is significantly longer than the front. UA’s product page claims this is to help it stay tucked in. I think it looks incredibly stupid — I’ve never in my life seen another t-shirt that is longer in the back than in the front. And I’m pretty sure 99% of people wear their workout shirt untucked. But the shirts are cheap and you don’t really notice and the sizing is better than Nike’s (that isn’t longer in the back) so I stick with these.

Trying to think of a way to write a review for something that is so simple as a shirt is quite comical as I try to write this up. Hey, it’s a shirt, you put it on, wear it and on you go is what you look for when buying clothing of this type. But, would like to get more in depth for others without boring you with a full blown essay!

The fit is comparable to other brands and matches the description listed on the website. I use these shirts for coaching baseball during hot days, working out in the gym, and as a comfortable knock around shirt to wear at home. The length for the arms is better than most shirts as Under Armour does have shorter sleeve lengths than other shirts which is a lot more comfortable for me. It is breathable so if you are standing around on a scorching hot field, it is much better to wear this type of material vs. a cotton shirt. When sweating, the material does have some absorption capabilities, but not too much, will get into that later. The neck length does go higher than most, but it is not to the point where it is too high.

Working out in the gym, I am able to do what I need to do and the shirt allows full range of motion and does not restrict when doing any workout types that I do. Now to get back to the absorption of perspiration. I do workout in a gym that has saunas, and when working out in a sauna you sweat, A LOT. The shirt can only take so much before it gets completely saturated. Not a deal breaker by any stretch, but if you use this shirt when exerting yourself in a hot environment for a long period of time, just know that if you sweat a lot, it will eventually feel like you jumped in a pool.

Aside from that one con, the quality is unmatched vs. the price and is definitely something to have in your drawer at home as it is extremely comfortable and has multiple uses!

Ordered this to try as an under shirt to a button up work shirt. Cotton ones are way too hot at work causing chaffing and excessive sweat. The material is so lightweight and breathable I have noticed a significant cool down while wearing. The size was true to size, I ordered a XXLT. I am 295 and 6’1”. The only reasons I gave a four star was there is a long stiff tag 3/4 of the way down the left side and I had to cut it off due to being uncomfortable.

  8. Margaret Pruna

I compared this shirt from UA to other very popular brands for the same type of T-shirt. The sale price for the UA was better and the feel against your skin was nicer. They provide a similar if not better dry wicking ability. The colors I order were accurate to the pictures. They look great and fit well.

  9. Alex

El color no es el de la descripción.

  10. DBach

Needed a go-to shirt for sweaty activities here in the south and this shirt is perfect. Stays comfortable even soaking wet. The fit is typical Under Armour, perfect! I wouldn’t call it ultra soft, like Lulu or Vuore, but they’re great for what they’re made for. Will buy more!

  11. Rosa T.

Nice thin shirt for summer but this one ran small. So that’s why I gave it 4 stars. So size up one size.
