These are my new favourite winter running gloves. I run 5-10 km most days and love to run in the winter. I find that most gloves are insufficient to keep my hand warm on very cold days, but these gloves are super warm. They’re also really easy to wash because my hands get sweaty and washing my running gloves are a necessity. The gloves are not as waterproof or windproof as claimed because running these under water means that my fingers got wet. However, they are super soft, grippy enough for me to hold my phone while running and I can easily skip songs on my playlist or navigate through my running app during my run. I wear women’s size XS gloves, usually a size 6 glove size and the small in these gloves are slightly oversized for my fingers. If you are in between sizes I recommend sizing down. These gloves are very stretchy and even the small size can fit medium hands.

Lovely warm gloves with capacitative pads so you can use your phone while wearing them. Just make sure you’ve got a phone case on, or that the phone doesn’t slip out of your hand!

These didn’t seem water resistant – packing for Alaska and couldn’t risk it – so I splashed a tiny bit of water on them and the water soaked right in. Not what I was looking for. Also fit was off – but a smaller size might have worked ok.

Thoughts on DexShell’s woven waterproof gloves:

I’m always on the lookout for waterproof gloves to wear when I rake snow off the roof in the winter, so these caught my eye. I’ve actually been pretty impressed with them so far. They’re sized generously, and the woven material is lightweight and feels very comfortable.

I tested them in a large pot of water, and they are definitely waterproof (I completely submerged my hands for over 5 minutes, constantly flexing my fingers to see if any water would be absorbed). The woven outer does absorb water, but the inner layer keeps you dry as a bone. The water absorption will affect temperature, however, so these may not work as well in the winter months.

I think $29.99 is a very fair price for gloves at this quality level, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

    My rating: 4.5 stars

Review for: DexShell Essential Waterproof Knit Gloves Acrylic Inners Spring & Autumn for Men and Women Touchscreen UltraFlex 2.0, Black Palm Dots, Unisex Large

These gloves appear to be OK. Can not say I like them a lot, but I do not dislike them. The fit is rather tight on the fingers. Inside lining is not really soft, just cloth that is much like the outside. They feel tolerable, but I have other gloves that actually feel nice when I wear them.

There is some kind of plastic liner between the inside and outside that is waterproof, I wonder if it will get sweaty inside when doing any kind of work. Mid August is just not cold enough to give them a try. I see that it is supposed to be “Porelle” membrane…maybe but what Porelle membrane is a good question. I tried running water over a glove for about 1 minute and my fingers were not wet inside the glove, but the glove was soaked outside. I would think this would still be a cold glove when wet.

Overall, not sure I would be happy if I had paid full price for these gloves. They appear just OK. I will try to update this review when cooler weather comes.

We bought these gloves to wear kayaking. They got soaked. Not sure why they advertise them as waterproof. Don’t waste your money.

I wanted something that I could use outside in the fall that is waterproof. I’ve gone through a few pair of standard waterproof gloves and I wanted to try something different. These are definitely knit and they are definitely waterproof. I was amazed to run these under a faucet for a few minutes and realized there was a shell inside keeping the water away from my skin. These feel great and will provide a bit more warmth than standard waterproof gloves. The concerns I have are that I can feel the temperature of the water through the glove very easily so there is little to no insulation. The pointer and thumb that have the touchscreen addition are longer than my fingers and make the glove feel a little odd and the grip is minimal compared to standard gloves. Overall I feel these are a quality glove although I have only used them for a couple of days.

These seem great. The waterproofing is pretty good, I ran the water from a faucet over my hands for about 30 seconds and felt no water, although I did feel it cooling off — the “breathable” nature of the gloves mean that wetness will cool them down a bit when they get very wet.

I should note, they do get very wet in this case, they are waterproof but the exterior layer is not water repellant. In particular, they shouldn’t be (obviously) used for waterproofing when submerging your hands in water, etc. — these are for rainy winter weather and stuff like that.

They feel breathable and function well, definitely a great glove overall.

My only gripe is that they don’t fit. They fit perfectly on every finger and every part of my hand… except one. The pinky-side of the hand is too long (even though the pinky finger is fine). So the extra fabric on that side of each hand bunches up, especially when gripping or flexing the hand at all. Disappointed, but I know gloves like this are “one size fits most” and sometimes I’m not in the “most” group. I considered knocking off a star, but I think this glove is still likely to fit most people, my hand is a bit disproportionate compared to average.

Shopping at Amazon (or anywhere with a good return policy) makes this moot, just return and exchange until you find the right fit.

These gloves fit like – errr… well, you know. The sizing for me is a lottery – sometimes L are fine, others are XL. I took a punt on L, and they are perfect. Snug, cosy, and still allow for dexterity.

The gloves are hard to rate as I got them during early summer, but they are certainly going to be perfect for autumn walks, maybe even winter if it’s mild.

The touch screen side works surprisingly well, which is a bonus as many times I get a work call or personal call during my long walks.

I have no complaints with these whatsoever except for the quality control – mine had a quite large flaw near the cuff where it looks like the knit had come apart. Mrs Jones was quick to fix the issue, and they’ve not shown any signs of fraying further.

    Overall, a great product.

Bought these for our cruise to Alaska so while we’re out on excursions if my hands get cold, I can whip these out and stay warm and dry. They’re not bulky easily packable very pleased with my purchase. Build quality is spectacular

The DexShell Essential Waterproof Knit Gloves feel soft and reassuringly thick. The material is elastic in all directions. The XL size fit my hands as expected. The inner layer of the gloves felt was a smooth and comfortable knit – not rubbery. Wearing the glove, I held a glass of water that was wet on the outer surface with no difficulty. The well illustrated silicone dots on the palm and fingers provide an effective grip. The index finger and thumb of each glove control of phone capacitance screens, though the thicker fingertips make accurate placement of the fingers more challenging. This pair of gloves has long wrist sections, something that I particularly like. They tuck nicely into the coat sleeves to seal out cold.

As it is not quite snowball season in NE PA, so to test the waterproof quality of the gloves, I filled one up with water. This is an unfair test because of the water pressure exerted by the trapped water will show up leakage immediately while snow or rain would take longer to saturate and seep through the glove. While I did not make an endurance test out of this, I was surprised to see NO seepage during the several minutes I held and waved the glove around. The two included pictures show the glove filled with water.

To dry the inner glove out, I had to turn it inside out. To get the fingers to extend after reversing the glove, I blew into it, like you might do with a rubber glove. The fingers popped inside out with the same sound that a rubber glove might make. The glove feels and sounds as a normal knit glove during handling and wear. The manufacturer’s claim of 100% waterproofness seems to be valid. What I could not test in a reasonable time and manner was the 70% breathability claim. Nor do I know how long the the middle waterproof layer will hold up to constant flexing. Time will tell.

The glove set is well constructed, attractive and seems a good value.

These stylish fabric gloves are made quite thick and are decently warm although maybe not when it’s -30⁰ C. They are mostly true to size but just a smidge snug. I like that they extend a touch past the wrists so your winter coat sleeves will overlap them keeping you toasty even when you’re active, whether jogging or shovelling snow. The fabric is soft and comfortable and the touchscreen tips work well. The rubbery pattern on the palm sides does provide an anti-slip grip and looks quite cool too. At around $30, they are just a touch pricey for fabric gloves.
