Fantastic little watch. Does anyone know if it works when the parent is not with the child? Like I want my daughter to wear it to school so can keep and eye on her heart rate? Thanks

I’ve been thinking about getting a fitness watch for awhile, but I wasn’t ready to jump in and get one in the $80 plus range. I generally don’t wear watches/jewelry and I thought wearing one would bug me and I’d quit wearing it after a few days, or not be able to wear it while sleeping. This watch is no more bothersome than wearing a scrunchy (hair tie) around my wrist, which I do quite often. Since it’s designed for kids I thought the band would be too short, but it fits well with room to spare. I mostly use this watch to track my sleep since my sleep pattern has become erratic and it gives me a good idea of how much sleep I’ve gotten and when I actually go to sleep. It tracks steps and activity throughout the day, monitors your heart rate and can be used to track your weight when entered manually.

Ordered it for my 8 and 10 years old.
Overall, the kids like the watches. They are sturdy and the straps are made from a nice, tactile rubber. I especially appreciate that the screen is slightly recessed into the strap, creating a rubber edge that protects the screen from scratches.

The only downside is that the battery life is not as advertised (7 days). The kids have to charge their watches every 2-3 days.

My 9 year old daughter loves it. She is obsessed with seeing how many steps she can get in a day. Easy way for me to make sure she is getting a good amount of sleep. So far we’ve tested it out at the pool, in a hot tub, playing soccer, and on multiple bike rides. Works very well. That said… 7 day battery charge is a joke. Kids love checking their steps so we get about 3 days at most our of the charge.

I bought two of these for my 6 and 9 year olds. They both love them and enjoy the ease of tracking their steps throughout the day. They are slim and sleek and don’t get in the way. I gave 4 stars only because I had a hard time figuring out how to charge it. Overall, a good value.

My 6 yo loves this fitness tracker watch. I dont love having to remember to charge it every other night. Especially annoying when we go on weekend trips since I don’t want to take the charger with us in case we lose it. (It’s made specifically for this watch)

I tested the watch first, out of curiosity, before turning it over to our 9 year old. For both of us the pedometer seemed quite accurate and the heart rate monitor reported beats per minute that were in line with our levels of activity.

The design of the watch was comfortable for both the younger wearer and for me with my larger wrist. The metal contacts on the underside of the watch, required for the health data, are smooth and soft. Neither of us found them noticeable while wearing it. The watch has a small size overall which is great for the smaller user and the case uses a soft plastic which was comfortable for both of us.

There is one button on the face of the watch with long and short presses as the control mechanism. I picked up the control click patterns easily enough. It seemed even easier for the younger mind that grew up with electronic devices. Twice during a hike the pedometer was accidentally reset. We’re not sure how it happened but that was early on so we wrote it off to the user still gaining familiarity.

The charger clip works well but it relies on two plastic clips to hold it in place. So far it’s working well but I worry about one of the clips breaking with some impatient handling. The app has data tracking features which I haven’t used. Our use has been in-the-moment observation of the reported stats. It seems that connecting to the app was the only way to set the time. For those of us reluctant to load yet another app, I would have liked the ability to set the time independently on the watch.

All things considered, I am finding the watch to be both fun and educational.

This fitness tracker is the perfect size watch for my 11 year old. Some are so boxy and square that he doesn’t like to wear it, but this longer narrow one he says is much more comfortable. The silicone band is easy to get on and off, the display is bright and it sync’d up right away with his Moto phone. It’s easy to scroll among the various stats, and he loves being able to track his heartrate and steps each day. Complex enough to keep kids interested, but easy enough they can figure it out themselves. Love it!

  12. Vlad

I got this for my 9 year old son! He likes it! The only thing he doesn’t like is that you can only have 3 sport modes at a time. I’m questioning the accuracy of the steps! Says way more than my watch!

  13. Larry Schmidt

My 9 year old loves his watch.
