I recently bought the ASICS Men’s Gel-Venture 8 Running Shoes for my son, who has been running a ton to get ready for lacrosse season. He had been struggling with shin splints, but these shoes have made a world of difference.
The gel cushioning system in the heel has provided much-needed shock absorption, reducing the impact on his legs and significantly alleviating his shin splints. He’s been able to increase his running distance and intensity without the discomfort that previously held him back.
The fit is perfect—secure but not too tight—and the breathable mesh keeps his feet cool and dry during long runs. The durable outsole provides excellent traction, whether he’s running on trails or pavement, giving him confidence in every step.
The shoes look good. They’ve become his go-to for not just running, but also for everyday wear.
Overall, the ASICS Men’s Gel-Venture 8 Running Shoes have been a fantastic investment for my son’s training. They offer the right blend of comfort, support, and durability, and have truly helped him get back on track for lacrosse season.

Really like these shoes for running walking working out feel amazing on the feet. Usually my feet hurt my shoes, but these are pretty comfy by doing all of it very well supported. You have amazing grip cool style not weird to walk in.

I have been wearing Asics for a long time andcrecently ventured away to some other brands. I’m back with Asics because the sneakers they make just work so well for me and my specific use case. I’m used to wearing the Gel Nimbus line of sneakers. I work in health care so I’m on my feet constantly for 12+ hours a day. The Nimbus tends to run small so my 11 1/2 foot normal is a 12 men in the Nimbus. With this line a 12 is actually a size 12 mens. The sneaker is a bit too big for my foot but it is still comfortable. I purchased these as my daily walkers (not for work). These are really comfortable and supportive. I would definately buy these again in a size 11 1/2 because these are a truer fit than the Nimbus and I would run in them. These are a “trail” sneaker so they are less flexible and more thick/sturdy feeling than the nimbus line. I don’t want to turn this into a Nimbus review, not going to lie, I love the Gel Nimbus line but these are a close secomd. I really like the comfort and support these gel ventures offer.
I ventured away from Asics and had several pairs of those good looking “Just SO SO” sneakers sold here on amaxon – big mistake. Those sneakers only look good and thats it. There is no comparison between these gel ventures and those other off brand sneaks. The Asics are in a totally different class of quality. I would recommend these gel ventures to anyone looking for a good trail sneaker. Firm, breathable uppers with good padding, confortable soles and nice heels. Tread that doesn’t get slippery when it gets wet. The only reason they aren’t a 5 star for me is because they aren’t a Nimbus 20, 21, 22 or 23 😉

This is my 2nd pair as I walk about5-6 miles daily.

I’m not sure how I missed providing this review earlier, for I’ve had these sneakers now for approximately 5 months and they are still providing good support, fit and comfort. I do rotate them with five other pairs of sneakers for approximately 30 miles each week but I must say that I will definitely re-order these. Can’t beat it at the price, for it is definitely worth the mileage.
